How this type of ticketing works

Attractions that sell timed-entry tickets avoid crowding and give every visitor a better experience. Instead of one line at the gate, guests pick a date and time slot when they buy, and staff can pace arrivals so the venue never exceeds capacity.

TixSimple gives you a branded event page for each attraction, ticket tiers for adults, kids, seniors or members, and a QR code for each time slot. Attendees receive tickets by email and can add them to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. On arrival, staff scan the QR code and the ticket is marked as used.

What to set up in TixSimple

    1. 1Create an event for your attraction with date, hours and capacity.

    Add-ons that drive more revenue

Once your base tickets are live, add upsells that guests buy before they arrive: parking passes, fast-track entry, photo packages, or food vouchers. TixSimple supports add-on ticket types and custom attendee fields so you can collect dietary restrictions or waiver signatures at checkout.

    Frequently asked questions

Do guests need to arrive at the exact time on their ticket?

You control the window. TixSimple lets you set a time slot, and your scanner team can decide whether to honor a short grace period. Most attractions allow 15–30 minutes of flexibility.

Can I sell both timed-entry and any-time tickets?

Yes. Create separate ticket types for timed entry and open entry, each with its own price, inventory, and availability window. Sell them on the same event page.

What happens if a guest misses their time slot?

You can scan the ticket anyway if there is room, or you can mark it unused and issue a replacement. TixSimple tracks every scan so you can see how often late arrivals happen.

How do I check tickets at the gate?

Open the scan URL on any phone or tablet. Each scanner key is a unique link, so volunteers can scan without a login. Invalid or duplicate QR codes show a clear red warning.
